Vigilante Crypt, Page 8!

Vigilante Crypt, Page 8

I know, I know, I usually update on Monday.  But heck, if you’re here on the blog, you probably are a rabid fan, right?  Or…you were looking for recipies and got lost?

Well, either way, you guys are special, and deserve to see the page before anyone else in the world does….so here you go!  I really like this page, particularly the wide-shot of the basement.  Drawing those cobwebs was a blast!  It really had the kind of feel I wanted to have.  See that tobacco pipe on the roll-top desk?  That’s one I own, and a favorite.  Yes, I smoke a pipe now and then, and occasionally I wear a button-up sweater, but….I also make comics!  How cool is that?)

I’ll be sitting behind a convention table for the first time tomorrow at the White Crow Comicon in my hometown of Morehead, Kentucky.  If you’re local, stop by the convention center downtown and say hello!  I’ll try to get a couple of pics that I can post this weekend.

Take care, guys!

-Dave

im slightly confused, is this new storyline before Ghosts with Gun in continuity?

    Gray,

Vigilante Crypt, is a telling of the Origin Story for Ghost Zero, so I can understand the confusion!) I appreciate you taking time to comment!

alrighty, i thought so, just wanted to make sure. I love the panel where his flashlight is shining on the Ghost, very spooky!

Oh i forgot to mention, i think the main reason i was confused was because Eddie looks older now than he did in Ghosts with Guns, lol.

Look I’m not saying Shia Labeouf should play Eddie in the movie because I know he’s in now but the kid is a damn fine actor. They don’t have the same mannerisms but I can see him playing the part. What about Paul Giamatti playing the part of Charles (think the Illusionist)?

I agree with you on Shia Labeouf playing Eddie..because I think he’s a strong enough actor to pull it off. I know Paul Giamatti would be an interesting choice for Charles….and he could do an impressive job, no doubt! I actually base the face of Charles off of Boris Karloff, in case you were curious.)
The age of Eddie (as Gray Reaper mentioned previously) is something I suppose I should think about. It’s true that I’m drawing Eddie to look more like a 16-year old…and maybe I should consider making Eddie 16 instead of 14? Hmm..

well he just lookd alot more like a kid in Ghosts with Guns where now he could be almost 20, in my opinion.

Shia Labeouf would be pretty good as Eddie, and Paul Giamatti is a great actor.

    But…

I think Jeremy Irons, he of the gaunt face and scary voice, would be a perfect Charles Palentine.

(Then again, at one time I thought he would have been a perfect Lamont Cranston, so who knows?

    Wait, don’t say it :-) )

Woops. Forgot to say what a great page that is. Spooky atmosphere to spare… and that glimpse of Charles watching…

    Creepy.

    Don,

Ohh… You’re right! I completely forgot about Jeremy Irons! Color his hair gray and slick it back….yep, that’d be creepy! Thanks for suggesting it, and I’m glad you like the page!

But at least we’re in agreement on Shia. I could see Irons playing the role as well.

Definitely. His role in “Transformers” showed him as a normal kid, heroic, but in over his head. Eddie Quick to a “T”.
