Sculpture update!

Eric Diaz (http://goldmane.net/Test/index.html) has just sent along another update to the Revenant bust, this one showing off the creeping drapery (hey, what are ghosts without drapes, eh?) that he’s doing along the back of the sculpt. Awesome! It’s very interesting seeing other folks interpretations of Rev, and how that influences the ways I think about the character….it brings up things that I never really thought of before.
Again, inCREDible work, Eric!
I’m still doing work on the webcomic site at webcomicsnation.com (http://www.webcomicsnation.com/roguehill/revenant/series.php), that is, I will be once the migration to the new server is complete. The next panel should be up next Monday!

Haunted has a new home!

Howdy folks!

I’ve just wanted to let everyone know that I’m hosting the “Haunted: Tales of the Revenant” series at webcomicsnation! http://www.webcomicsnation.com/roguehill/revenant/series.php

I like the tools there for administering things, so new releases will be posted there every Monday!

I also got some great feedback (particularly about my (lamentable lack of ) lettering skills) at the Penciljack forum regarding the panels! Take a peek!

It’s a busy week here, as I’m involved in a community play “It’s a Wonderful Life” radio play. We did it last year, and it was a blast!

"Sea of the Dead: Panel 4"

Initiations into fraternal organizations can be anything from interesting to “endurance trials”. I’m a Freemason myself, so I know a thing or two about it.) Fortunately, dear readers, the Black Friars are a fictional lot, as their initiation is quite a grueling and bloody affair…. This is going to be a busy week for me, but I’m going to try to have another panel up by next Monday.

"Sea of the Dead: Panel 3"

We get our first look at the mysterious “Order of the Black Friars” in this panel. The Order was said to have been founded by a group of Franciscan Monks who were excommunicated by Pope Beneficus XI for “holding discourse with the devil’s legion”. Not healthy at all.

"Sea of the Dead: Panel 2"

Here’s the second Panel of my pulp-action-supernatural-thriller story “Sea of the Dead!”. In case you’re wondering, Eddie is about 14 years old. Charles Pallentine, the original Revenant, was 42 when he died back in 1936.

Eric Diaz is…well…..just take a freaking peek!

Oh, did I mention that Eric was working on a bust of our favorite vigilante? Oh yes, my friend. Is he ever! While I’ve been toiling away on the Revenant Project, Eric has been losing sleep working on the bust and providing yours truly with some much, much appreciated advice. I’m absolutely blown away by the work on the bust he’s doing. Take a look! You will be too!!
Oh, and you absolutely have to see Eric’s website! http://goldmane.net/Test/index.html

"Sea of the Dead: Panel 1"

So…what’s been going on since my last update? Lots! I scripted and did the thumbs for 12 comic pages for my first-ever story……and scrapped it. Why, you may ask? Because I came up with a much, much better idea. One that would fit right in with the period I’m writing about. Essentially, it is a one-panel strip updated regularly like you might see in a newspaper strip like Flash Gordan or Buck Rogers.

And here’s the First Panel of my new adventure story featuring the Revenant, the “Sea of Death!”
